Snow Mountain Ranch is in the beautiful Colorado mountains near Winter Park, Colorado. The retreat setting provides a wonderful time of relaxation, reflection, worship and fellowship for the entire family.

Activities available at Snow Mountain Ranch include: softball, volleyball, sauna, tennis, hiking, library, museum, wildlife viewing, fishing, climbing wall, basketball, roller skating, miniature golf, horseshoes, indoor swimming, campfires, whitewater rafting ($), craft shop ($), horseback riding ($), canoeing($), and hayrides($). FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Should my spouse attend the sessions?
Yes, the Retreat is planned for couples and their children.

Do you have planned programs for my children?
Yes, children age 4 and older will have planned programs in the mornings during your sessions. Childcare is available for younger children under the age of 4.

What will my children be doing?
The children's directors will thrill your 4 to 7 year olds with crafts, drama and hikes. All this in the safe environment of the Ranch conference grounds. It is the ideal place for your children to enjoy the outdoors in a very special way and learn more about the Lord.

Activities galore will meet your youth age 8 through 12 at the Snow Mountain Ranch. The youth directors will literally perform magic as the kids enjoy everything from putt-putt golf to hiking and roller skating. They will learn how to cope with being a PK.

Your teen will be challenged and encouraged while enjoying wall climbing and other "team" building experiences. Heart to heart talks about the PK life and an exciting Rocky Mountain outdoor experience will make this a well-rounded program they will never forget.

What do we do if our children are under the age of 4?
Childcare is provided for children under the age of 4 and they are welcome to be with you in the general sessions.

Can we come early or stay after the Retreat at Snow Mountain Ranch?
Yes, you can if space is available. You can make that request when you make your reservations directly with the conference office at Snow Mountain Ranch. To make your reservation call the conference department directly at 970-887-2152 extension 4125.

When does the Retreat begin?
Registration begins at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday. Our first meeting is at 5:30 P.M.

Where do we register/check-in?
When you arrive, check-in at the Snow Mountain Ranch conference office to get your room key or campsite location. The conference office is the first building on your left as you enter the grounds of Snow Mountain Ranch. Then proceed to Indian Peaks Lodge to register with us for the Retreat. Note: Snow Mountain Ranch may not have your room ready when you arrive. They do not release keys until the rooms have been cleaned (generally after 4:00 p.m.). There may be a delay in getting into your room. You may register with us before getting into your room.

When does the Retreat end?
The last activity is the Worship service which begins at 10:30 A.M. on Sunday.

Do we have any free time during the Retreat?
Each afternoon is open for your own exploration.

What kind of activities are available at the Snow Mountain Ranch?
Snow Mountain Ranch offers many diverse recreational activities. Do we need to make advance arrangements for any of the activities?
Yes, it is best to make advance reservations for Golf, Horseback riding, coach tours and Whitewater rafting. The contact numbers are:

  • How do we get to Snow Mountain Ranch?
    From Denver take Interstate Highway 70 East to exit 232. At the exit go North on US Highway 40 over Berthod Pass. Follow US Highway 40 through Winter Park, then 12 miles North to Snow Mountain Ranch. Proceed to Indian Peaks Lodge for Registration.

    What it the elevation of Snow Mountain Ranch?
    Snow Mountain Ranch is located at an elevation of 8,800 feet above sea level.

    Should I take special precautions because of the high altitude?
    The higher the elevation, the less oxygen there is to breath. Most people who visit from lower elevations will be affected in varying degrees by the altitude. There is also less humidity in the air.

    Nearly everyone who visits from lower elevations will notice shortness of breath. Some may also experience fatigue, dizziness, headaches and nausea. Most people adjust within a few days. Some tips from the American Heart Association of Colorado for the first 48-72 hours in the high country: Eat lightly, Drink plenty of water, Avoid alcohol, Get plenty of rest. Keep physical exertion to a minimum.

    It is also very important to remember that the chance of sunburn increases at higher elevations. To protect yourself, be sure to use sunscreen and wear sunglasses.

    If we are camping and want to eat at the Ranch, what are our options?
    You have two options. You can eat at the Buckboard Grill and Grocery which has hotdogs, hamburgers, etc. or you can eat at the Schlessman Commons buffet. The Gift Shop stocks some snack items.

    When are meals served in the Schlessman Commons?
    Breakfast: 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
    Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
    Evening meal: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

    What is the schedule for the Retreat?

    REGISTRATION INFORMATION

    Register today for the 2009 Leadership Retreat. Space is limited, so please make your reservation as soon as possible.

    The registration fee is $300 per person (non-refundable).
    Spouses and children accompanying, but not attending sessions, may waive the registration fee.

    Are you flying to the retreat? Transportation cannot be provided, rental cars are recommended for travel between the airport, Snow Mountain Ranch and local attractions.
