What Are Coaching Intensives?
Coaching Intensives for leaders are committed to be a highly catalytic experience empowering strategic change or needed improvement in your life and leadership. Coaching is not counseling; nor is it therapy. Coaching is realistic and present/future oriented, based on the possibilities available to you in a full life. Coaching will also impact your relationships and work environment in a positive manner.
Unlike counseling or therapy, coaching is less intrusive; less concerned about problem solving, and more focused in equipping you to reach your potential. Coaching is not for those who need therapy to overcome painful experiences from the past but rather it is for relatively well-adjusted leaders to build their vision and move more strategically toward their future. Strengths-oriented, it focuses less on overcoming weaknesses and more on building skills and assets.
We offer one- and two-week retreat-based opportunities at our facility in Parker, Colorado, a suburb of Denver. [See a virtual tour by clicking here.] Our Intensives begin late afternoon or early evening on Sunday and continue through lunch on Friday. You will work with a licensed professional counselor for two to three hours per day. [See a list of our licensed counselors here.] Your counselor will personalize the approach for you and your ministry. If you are married, we encourage you to bring your spouse. This is not a requirement. However, your spouse is a key component of your life and ministry, and we encourage them to attend with you if at all possible. Once your Intensive is scheduled, you will begin working with your counselor on some pre-arrival preparation.
All Intensives are individually-tailored to meet your current needs and are available for individuals and couples. We offer several different focuses for Leadership Intensive Experiences. We can combine aspects of a Coaching Intensive with a Counseling Intensive, Spiritual Formation Intensive, and/or Sabbatical Kick-off Intensive.
