Planning Your Sabbatical?
Our talented counselors at QuietWaters will help you make the most of your sabbatical experience. Whether you are looking for personal spiritual renewal and strengthening, planning for the future of your church, or exploring options to reenergize your ministry, the QuietWaters staff will help you develop and execute a customized sabbatical plan and experience. We offer one and two week retreat based opportunities at our Retreat Center in Parker, Colorado, a suburb of Denver. Our sabbatical retreats begin late afternoon or early evening on Sunday and continue through lunch on Friday. You will work with a licensed professional counselor for 2 to 3 hours per day. Your counselor will personalize the approach for you and your ministry. If you are married, we encourage you to bring your spouse. This is not a requirement. However, your spouse is a key component of your life and ministry, and we encourage them to attend with you if at all possible.
A sabbatical provides time away from your normal day to day activities to allow you renew, restore, and strengthen.
The perspective of a third party to help guide you through this process is invaluable. Once your sabbatical is scheduled you will begin working with a counselor on some pre-arrival preparation. This may include some suggested reading or even some testing regarding your gifting. Some pastors want to have some feedback from their leadership and congregation and we will facilitate leadership 360’s (written interview questions submitted by staff, leadership, and congregation). For others, the sabbatical process is much more exploratory and introspective. We will help you explore, develop, and execute your sabbatical plan.
QuietWaters has worked with over 40 different denominations, dozens of missionary sending organizations, and parachurch organizations.
