Host Couples

Do you enjoy making people feel welcome and at ease? Are you able to serve for a week or two at a time? This may be the perfect opportunity for you!

A key ingredient of our Retreat Home is hospitality. Volunteer couples stay at the home to serve and care for pastors, missionaries, and parachurch leaders during their Leadership Intensives. This vital ministry helps create a restorative, healing space so clients can focus on their counseling, rest, and time with God.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a Host Couple do?
Host Couples provide meals and overall hospitality to clients during their stay at the Retreat Home.

How do I know what meals to provide?
QuietWaters has a rotating menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All you have to do is follow the menu!

Do I have to do all of the grocery shopping?
No, QuietWaters has an amazing volunteer who does the bulk of the grocery shopping and delivers it to the house after you arrive. Fill-in trips to the grocery store (for fresh produce, a missing item, etc.) are usually needed once or twice a week.

Do I have to clean the house?
A cleaning crew comes at the end of the week after everyone has left to make beds and perform a deep clean. Only dishes and washing of sheets and towels is needed.

Do I interact with the guests?
As a Host Couple your interaction is as easy as a warm smile and the gift of hospitality. Counseling is provided by QuietWaters counselors and is confidential.

Is there training for a Host Couple?
Yes, we will provide you with training! QuietWaters staff is also available to answer any questions while you\’re serving at the Retreat House.

What is the time commitment for a Host Couple?
Host Couples serve as much as they desire. The typical commitment is for one week (Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon) or two weeks at a time (Sunday afternoon to Friday of the following week). We will work with your schedule! QuietWaters is open all year long.

Prayer Team

Prayer is a vital part of QuietWaters Ministries. We strongly believe that “the prayer of a righteous man [or woman] is powerful and effective” (James 5:16 NIV).

We are looking for men and women to join us in praying daily for Christian leaders and the ministry of QuietWaters. Our local prayer team in Denver meets the second Monday of every month at 8:30am. Our international prayer team receives regular e-mails containing prayer requests.

If you are passionate about prayer, ministry, and missions, and are also interested in joining our Prayer Team, please fill out our volunteer application below.
